Playsets 1999 - 2001
These years comprise the takeover of Galoob by Hasbro, but what must have been fairly hectic time did not slow down the playset offerings from both companies. Some of the 1999 playsets appear to be incredibly rare similar to the vehicle packs. This carried through for 2000 and 2001 as well with other rare releases possibly due to lower production or limited regional releases.

1999 Playsets
Distinctive purple packaging was used for the 1999 mainline playsets. A pre-production packaging sample is shown for the Bank Robber's Hideout playset using a multiple-printed paper from a different playset. There is extensive detail on the changes to the playset requested. Additional pre-packaging Winner's Circle playsets are shown below using Matchbox paper oddly. Unique vehicles are found in some of these playsets making them very appealing to collectors.

2000 Playsets
With Hasbro now fully producing the playsets for Micro Machines in 2000, the number of options were reduced, and production appears to be far less than earlier years. Some of these playsets are incredibly difficult to find even loose.

2001 Playsets
In 2001, there were quite a few more options available and the use of playsets for unique vehicles hit a maximum for this year. The stunt series included a unique single vehicle for each set. These individual vehicles are very popular for collectors. The World Rallye Racing playsets also included unique vehicles, but due to the fantasy style, they are not as popular yet for collectors, however, they can be exceptionally rare as well. The Mountain Extreme playset contains unique vehicles as well as one of the regional versions of the large Rallye Mountain Playset. In fact, the #31 and #32 vehicles are the only ones known.
