What better way to appeal to collectors of Micro Machines besides making an even smaller vehicle called a mini? This series was released in 1989 along with so many others, but it took off in sales as well. However, it was short-lived as it's only series with a final release in 1990. However, minis made a reappearance in 1995 as well as bonus vehicles on mainline cards, but no more were offered after that.

1989 Insiders Collections
The initial release for the Insiders series included 10 different collections which are presented in order below. However, similar to other 1989 series, the blister insert was in gold for spring and silver for fall. The pink tank version for collection #10 appears to be only available in the spring release. The USA and Italian versions are presented as complete with gold inserts below followed by a Canadian version for collection #5 and 6 French collections. Silver insert sets below include a Canadian release followed by a full set of 10 collections on German cards, and 2 Argentinian (Jocsa) versions.

1990 Insiders Collections
The 1990 Insiders were a continuation of the first 10 sets offered in 1989, but with a packaging variation matching the solid color blister insert front. It is possible to find the first 10 collections with the same packaging, but just an example is shown here from Italy since this style of packaging was not released in the USA, and the vehicles are identical with the same numbering. There were 10 new collections of vehicles released for 1990 numbered #11 through #20. The new vehicles are found in Argentina as well with their unique packaging style shown below. A variation for the Liquid Nitrogen truck missing the deign is included as well and the same set is shown with an error repeated mini too. Insiders Pocket Garages were added this year with miniature garages and a free mini vehicle. Four different 8-vehicle packs of minis were offered in 1990. 6 Credit Card playsets were added as well including some with unique mini vehicles. And, as if this wasn't enough, 2 different minis playsets were also offered, but without a vehicle included. The Insiders shells are shown below loose.
